Plan
Operation
Services available under our Plans are available through one of two separate and distinct
mechanisms:
Access
Service - The Access Phase is a client-member’s initial point of contact for inquiring about any legal concern. Members reach the offices of an “Access Attorney” over a toll-free line. After establishing a member’s eligibility for service, the Access Attorney strives to resolve any legal matter, which is presented. The services rendered in this phase (consultation, direction, third-party contact, document review) are all “Plan Benefits” and subject no further charge beyond the enrollment fee. However, if a client’s particular legal concern requires services beyond those, which are deemed to be within the scope of the Access Attorney’s role, the client will enter the second phase of the Plan.
Referral
Service - The Referral Phase is handled by a “Participating Referral Attorney” who has agreed to provide service to client-members on terms and at rates stated in the Plan(s) to which they relate. Referral Attorney’s provide a full range of professional services, including investigation, research, negotiation, drafting, litigation, appeals and office work according to a fee structure, which is set forth in provider agreements and member materials. In this phase, all charges for service are the responsibility of the client-member and are billed directly to them by their Referral Attorney.
This proven format for service delivery is attractive and effective for both the associated attorneys and the legal consumers to whom they are introduced. It insures dignity and justice to a public, which is generally not experienced in seeking professional advice. No longer regarded as part of the “wave of the future,” our Plans live up to their promise in the present.
